Orthodontic Braces

WHAT ARE DENTAL BRACES?

Dental braces are orthodontic devices that help in straightening and aligning teeth with the jaw line and position them as per the person’s bite. It helps fix problems like protruded teeth, misaligned teeth, gaps in teeth, under bite, overbite and more issues. It also helps improving the smile of the patient.

To solve orthodontic issues, braces can be opted at any age. However, the age bar of 10 to 14 is always an ideal option. At this age, these dental appliances are used to straighten teeth’s shape, if they are crooked or not aligned. In adulthood, people often use them to overcome other minor orthodontic troubles.

Lingual Braces: They are purely metallic. Often, gold or silver metals help in the manufacturing of these braces. Chances are these braces can cause speech issues during the treatment. It so happens because these braces are placed at the back of your teeth.

Aligners: These trays are made from medical grade plastic. Their treatment does not involve wires or regular braces. Their presentation is entirely invisible. So, the aesthetic needs are taken care of. In fact, these braces are hygienic and completely safe to use.

Ceramic Braces: They have clear brackets, whereas they blend in with your denture perfectly. These braces are also not that visible. So, if adults or seniors do not want to experiment with their looks, they can go for these braces. However, these braces are larger and breakable in comparison to metal ones.

Metal Braces: These braces are used the most. Patients prefer these because they are easily managed—being small in size and highly comfortable. Wires are included in these braces, and their elastic often has different colour options.
